Tan-Aid Supplement – Natural Melanin Tanning Accelerator
Tan-Aid is a supplement in vegetarian capsules to increase melanin levels, making the skin darker and more pigmented in the two hours following exposure to UVA rays, now available to buy at Supersmart. As you continue to take it, the effect increases, though there is no accumulation. After three weeks of use, pigmentation reaches its maximum level in the two hours following exposure to the sun.
What are the benefits associated with Tan-Aid?
The ingredients in Tan-Aid are derived from a keratin hydrolysate from the wool of black sheep which is naturally rich in melanin, a skin pigment responsible for tanning. Melaline is a melanin-protein complex that increases skin pigmentation and regenerates the epidermis. Its effects on the skin are twofold. It produces:
- Immediate pigmentation after just 10 days daily supplementation.
- Subsequent or delayed pigmentation at the end of the supplementation period.
Melanin, which is normally present in the layers of the epidermis, migrates to the skin's surface where it confers a protective effect, particularly as it is highly bioavailable. With its specific raw material and production process, would thus seem to be a substance of choice for accelerating, prolonging and intensifying the tanning process.
This specific melanin-protein complex includes both essential nutrients and tanning precursors, essential for skin pigmentation. In boosting keratinocyte and melanocyte epidermal cells, Melaline enables protective substances to be synthesised which combat UV damage. A tan is therefore the result of this Melaline-induced self-protection by the skin.
Tan-Aid also has a powerful antioxidant effect, protecting against free radicals. At a dose of two capsules a day, Tan-Aid constitutes an effective means of preparing for and intensifying your tan – it will continue to deepen as your skin is exposed to UVA and UVB.
What do studies show about Tan-Aid?
Subsequent or delayed pigmentation occurs after prolonged exposure to UVA and UVB rays. Melanocytes produce melanin which migrates towards keratinocytes. A long-lasting tan is therefore the manifestation of this process of delayed pigmentation. The DERMSCAN clinical study was conducted on individuals who had not been exposed to the sun in the 30 days preceding the study, including in winter. After one month's supplementation with 650g of Melaline a day, the patented compound in Tan-Aid, researchers noted that the volunteers' skin was darker and more pigmented. Results showed:
- A 90% increase in tan after 48 hours of a daily 500mg dose.
- A massive 217% increase in tan after 30 days of a daily 650mg dose.
After 30 days of treatment, 93% of subjects declared themselves very satisfied with the results and 81% found their skin was browner, more hydrated, firmer and more radiant. 76% of participants even wanted to continue and prolong the treatment.
